This policy explains what information Clear Margins collects, how it is used, and the choices you have when using the free calculators or Clear Margins Pro.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Clear Margins at getclearmargins.com and related product pages, calculators, dashboards, billing flows, and support interactions.

2. Information we collect

Clear Margins may collect the following information:

  • Information you provide: messages, support requests, email addresses, and details you choose to share.
  • Calculator and scenario inputs: numbers you enter into calculators or save in the dashboard. In the current product, saved scenarios are stored locally in your browser.
  • Subscription information: customer ID, subscription ID, subscription status, email address, and billing metadata returned by Paddle after checkout.
  • Technical information: basic server logs and request details needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the site.

Clear Margins does not store full credit card numbers. Payment details are collected and processed by Paddle.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide calculators, saved scenarios, exports, and dashboard access.
  • Verify Pro subscriptions and manage billing-related access.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
  • Protect the service from fraud, misuse, errors, and security issues.
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and dispute requirements.

4. Paddle checkout and billing

Paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle. Paddle handles checkout, payment methods, invoices, applicable taxes, subscription emails, and related buyer support. Paddle may process personal information under its own privacy policy.

5. Cookies and local storage

Clear Margins uses essential cookies or similar browser storage to remember Pro access on your browser. The dashboard may also use local browser storage for saved scenarios.

You can clear browser storage through your browser settings, but this may remove local saved scenarios or require Pro access to be restored. Clear Margins does not currently use advertising cookies.

6. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers that host, secure, operate, or support Clear Margins.
  • Paddle for checkout, subscription, tax, invoice, and payment support.
  • Authorities or other parties when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
  • A successor if Clear Margins is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer.

7. Retention

Browser-local scenarios remain on your device until you delete them, clear browser storage, or the browser removes them. Subscription, support, and transaction-related records may be retained as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and satisfy legal, tax, or accounting obligations.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection related to your personal information. You may also have rights to opt out of certain data uses.

To make a privacy request, contact support@getclearmargins.com. Paddle may need to handle requests related to payment or checkout data it controls.

9. International use

Clear Margins and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. When required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so you should use strong device and browser protections when saving business information.

11. Children

Clear Margins is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. The latest version will appear on this page with the updated date.
